Radon Mitigation Services

What is Radon?

Radon is a radioactive gas that damages the lungs and can lead to cancer. It's an invisible and odorless gas undetectable by the human body and can be exposed within your home without ever knowing. It forms from the natural breakdown of uranium found in soil, rock, and water. The radioactive level of the gas depends on the makeup of the soil and rock in your area but it is commonly found in low, non-harmful levels all over the United States. The elements formed from this natural process can attach to dust and other particles in the air you breathe.

Without an effective instrument to detect radon gas you can be exposed to high levels over a long period of time. However, it takes years to develop into hazardous conditions for your home. Having a radon detector will prevent exposure while mitigation will eliminate the threat entirely.

Radon can get into any type of building, including homes, offices and schools through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Exposure is more common at home since that is where residents spend most of their time. All of our waterproofing products can operate in conjunction with typical mitigation systems and products. Providing services to the surrounding areas of Iowa and Nebraska including Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Iowa City, as well as Omaha and Lincoln on the eastern border.

Radon is measured in picocuries per liter of air or "pCi/L." DIY test kits are sold at local home improvement and hardware stores but results are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Our certified, trained professionals come to your home and provide guidance in the event that high levels of radon are found. It's fast, easy, and affordable.

Amazing, showed up on time, cleaned up after them selves, and finish when they told me they would. We will be calling MSR next time we have foundation and radon issues.
